After the imposing size of the other apartments, this 2 person suite seems almost miniscule in comparison. However with basic self catering facilities the suite that opens onto the courtyard is an ideal space for a couple or single traveler/ business client who would be lost in the cavernous volume of the main apartments. An intimate option for centre of Simon´s Town accommodation with easy access to the main street, restaurants and facilities the town has to offer.
Off the centre courtyard with tinkling fountain and koi fish are the 2 rear loft apartments. The white wooden washed floors and raffia styled wallpaper create a relaxed beach house effect. Each apartment has a back terrace and you hardly notice there isn´t a seaview it is so cozy and relaxed. Both loft apartments have an upstairs loft bedroom with open plan bathroom in the bedroom. The second bedroom is twin bedded and adjacent to the self catering kitchenette.
Climbing up the old wooden staircase is your introduction to the Charlie Chaplin Apartment and images of the silent actor as you enter the grand doorway will be enough to leave you speechless yourself. Throw in the vast space of two sitting rooms, a fireplace and glass windows/ doors onto the balcony for people and boat watching and the jaw will drop in sheer amazement. The main bedroom has a queen sized bed and the 2 additional rooms are twin bedded. The space is so enormous they could be divided into two separate apartments and there is the added bonus of access to the centre courtyard.
Raised imposingly on a plinth, the piece de resistance of this apartment is the freestanding Victorian claw-foot bath in an absolutely massive bathroom- there is a separate shower, a classic old Victorian box shower if you don´t fancy a long luxurious soak but still want the period sensation. Like the other deluxe apartments the living area is wildly spacious and opens out onto a long private balcony with views of the naval dockyard. There is a queen and a twin bedroom and 2 bathrooms. China artifacts and little antique pieces make the apartment exceptionally homely.
You will be welcomed to the Churchill Apartment by 2 flags dramatically draped in centre stage above the spacious open plan kitchen. The kitchen opens onto the dining and living rooms and onward to the private balcony overlooking Simon´s Town. Relics of Winston Churchill, British statesman are woven into the intricately decorated apartment. The space has lovely golden wood floors, deep armchairs and comfortable sofas. The magnificent loft bedroom with Victorian Bathroom is tempting enough, but with 2 additional twin bedded rooms and wide open balcony no guest will be wanting to leave in a hurry.
The Union Castle Apartment is full of interesting artefacts including globes, antique trunks and suitcases, and a 1950s fridge. It is a real Art deco treasure and guests will feel as if they are cruising the high seas. With 3 bedrooms (1 x Queen and 2 x twins) including a magnificent old fashioned bedstead, 3 bathrooms and a private balcony this apartment boasts an old Victorian box shower and a piano. Despite the multitude of décor, the spaciousness of open plan kitchen/dining and living room there is no claustrophobia that would have been experienced on the shipping line
