Fish Hoek has a long stretch of sandy beach, gentle waves for safe swimming. There is a playground on the beachfront for children. It is close to cafes & shops for a bit of browsing or the purchasing of supplies. The sea is also slightly warmer here than the Atlantic coast.
There is a long stretch of sandy beach & you can take a relaxing stroll along Jager´s Walk - a pathway along the rocky coastline as far as Sunny Cove with some great rock pools for kids to find fascinating sea treasures. Fish Hoek is a great whale watching spot & also has a fascinating wetlands area & is home to the endangered leopard toad.
Fish Hoek is also home to an early stone age historic site where the remains of the 12 000 year old Fish Hoek man was found. More history of the area can be found at the Fish Hoek Valley museum.
